- 5 days until Italy--the the excitement is overwhelming. :)
- I just spent my entire day marking and doing house work. I am beginning to LOATH sundays no thanks to teaching...
- The British Gas company is a complete waste of my time and effort--day 5 of not having hot water OR heat (bring on the five million layers of clothing--wahoo!).
- I'm going to end up heading to bed at a ridiculously early time this evening. I really am turning into an old lady...
- Halloween this year brings many interesting things: Coming back from my first experience in Italy, finding out once and for all whether or not this is actually going to happen, my first experience of Halloween in a different country (which should be rather interesting). I still have yet to purchase a costume--do I hear a Cat for the umpteenth year in a row...? I thought so.
- Oh here's a goodie--I went to the Globe this weekend! I had a wonderful time (pictures will be up on facebook) seeing the place where Shakespeare thrived. Managed to pick up a few posters for my classroom (and one postcard for my own personal use). And no, you really cannot say Macbeth within the walls of the theatre; not unless you want have someone force you to leave the building, turn around three times, spit on the floor, knock on the door, and then wait to be let in (or so said the tour guide--who happened to be incredibly pretty--and possibly incredibly gay...).
Well that was my quick post for the evening. I'm pretty much planned for the entire week. I have two and a half more classes to grade and then I can finally get my half term break underway...God do I need this...

you should have asked the globe if they had any jobs available for me!
oh- and my theatre doesnt say the name of that play either ( the one at my school)... my one teacher was suspicious- and made you turn around and such if you said it- it was pretty funny to watch.
have a wonderful time in Italy- eat lots of pasta and cannoli and don't even think about the word calorie- it doesn't exist in Italy... or so i've heard.
ciao bella! xoxo
Sorry it seems like you're bogged down with work. But I hope your trip to Italy is accompanied with some much-deserved rest and relaxation!
<3 you!!!
Carolyn (Wife):apparently people both love AND hate working there...there is no in between. I think you would love it--when you come here at some point or another we should go take a look (for real--why not? )
Calories don't exist in Italy? Hmm...I should remember that one...<3 I'll bring oyu back some hot Italian guy or whatever--or maybe just some chocolates. I'd rather have melted Italian chocolates than a dead/unfed italian guy living in my room for two months (wouldn't have anywhere to keep him hahaha)
Jenny love: I am bogged down with work--however, after this week, I am home free. They say if you can make it to half term you're good and if you can make it to xmass you're even better! I am so excited for Italy and I will take loads of pictures to show you and morgan come December :-D <3
I enact a similar Globe ritual in my office whenever someone mentions Ayn Rand.
Glad to see you’re well and enjoying Europe!
Haha awesome, Brendon :) Has mentioning the name ever brought things down from the ceiling onto your head? I really do hope not. Apparently things fall apart (literally and metaphoriaclly speaking) when ever that particular play is mentioned within the Theatre.
England is awesome. I have one more day of work and then I'm off for a week--God do I need it. I'm physically and mentally exhausted after this term. Hows life out where you are now?
So is the title of this post a reference to the song "Lebanese Blond" by Thievery Corporation? If so, awesome -- and if not, check it out, you might like it. Either way, I'm glad that you've stuck it out! Looks like times got rough there for a while, but hey, made you stronger, didn't they?
And yeah, I'm being a tool and commenting on an old blog post, but the title caught my attention!!! :P
HAHA THanks Pete (Just realized about a month later that you had actually commented!) Yes, it is from the Lebanese Blonde song :) Brilliant isn't?! I did manage to survive through some rough patches, and in turn, came out shining, so to say :)
Hope all is well with you!
